And the cherry on the cake? Each Saturday morning the historic centre of Céret dresses in a thousand different colours and scents at its famous market where more than 170 exhibitors hold a stall.

At the Céret market you can also find stalls of flowers, spices, clothes, jewellery, and crafts … To sum up the Céret market, it is a place of pure happiness!

Reopening March 5th 2022
Visit the internationally renowned Musée d’Art Moderne in Ceret, which, having been recently renovated and expanded, offers new spaces to discover. This is an absolute must in Vallespir where culture is the order of the day!
Two artists created the museum in 1950: Pierre Brune and Franck Burty Haviland, both painters. It is the fruit of the passages and stays in the town and surrounding area of the greatest artists of the 20th century: Picasso, Braque, Gris, Soutine, Chagall, Herbin, Matisse, Masson, Krémègne then Miro, Tàpies, Viallat, Toni Grand, Bioulès …
The permanent expositions will leave you speechless, as will the equally fascinating temporary exhibitions which combine modern and contemporary art. Would you like to know a little more about the museum’s exhibits? Guides are available to accompany you on this journey with guided tours.
We visited the museum of Céret, and we were delighted with so many paintings by so many famous painters… Magnificent.
